Quebec City, My Favorite Place

Quebec City, Canada

Personal photo of Montmorency Falls in Summer 2017

In the summer of 2017, my parents and I decided to drive 14 hours to Ohio to visit the rest of our family. As soon as I got there, my sister, my cousin and I drove 14 hours to Quebec City just because (I don't remember). We were so tired but as soon as we get to our hotel, we showered and immediately drive around the city. First, we got breakfast and went to Montmorency Falls. It is impressive and the mist offers a refreshing cool in a hot summer day. After, we went to Old Quebec, which is a district that have buildings with French style architecture. Of course, we had to try maple syrup crepes and even bought a few bottles of maple syrup to bring home.

  1. That is so cool, Tony: I could not even have guessed how far a drive it would be from Ohio to Quebec... it seems like two different worlds, but that is the magic of roads: they can take you from one world to another. We don't have a French-Canadian reading unit in this class, but if that is something you would like to learn about, I am sure there are lots of great resources online. I did a quick Google search (because, hey, Saturday morning: random Google searches are the thing to do, right?), and I found this nifty little article: French Canadian Folk-Tales ... one of the great things about studying folklore and mythology is that old books and articles, which are free to read online, are also excellent sources to use for research. Anyway, thank you for making Quebec part of the landscape of the class this semester; it's the first time Quebec has shown up in a blog post I think! :-)
